Job summary

Comfort Temp Company is seeking a Journeyman Pipefitter in Tampa, FL to install, assemble, and maintain complex piping systems for large-scale commercial projects. You will mentor apprentices, read blueprints, ensure safety compliance, and collaborate with engineers to meet timelines.

The role requires 4+ years of piping experience, copper/steel pipefitting, and OSHA 10. A drug test and background check are required, with strong attention to detail and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 4+ years of related piping experience.
• Experience installing, assembling, fabricating, maintaining and repairing mechanical piping systems.
• Extensive copper and steel pipefitting in commercial environments.
• OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.
• Must pass drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

• Select pipe type and size per job specs and building plans.
• Plan installation sequence to avoid obstructions and minimize cuts.
• Thread and bend pipe by hand or with machines.
• Assemble and join piping with threaded, soldered, brazed, or cemented joints.
• Secure pipes with clamps and hangers; test for leaks under pressure.
• Interpret blueprints and ensure compliance with codes and safety standards.
• Mentor apprentices and coordinate with engineers/project managers.
• Maintain records of work performed and materials used.
