Job summary

McKenney’s is seeking a working crew member to take direction from the foreman and train Apprentices and Helpers in the installation and demolition of mechanical system components, and in moving of materials. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and adherence to project documents such as prints and specs.

Responsibilities include loading and unloading materials, reading project documents, planning efficient install methods, and ensuring safe operation of tools.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must have reliable transportation to travel to various jobsites.
• Must adhere to safety protocol.
• Must have completed an apprenticeship program.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe working practices throughout all activities.
• Take direction on installation of duct and piping systems.
• Ability to train and direct Apprentices and Helpers on proper work practices.
• Load/unload/move material such as sheet metal, piping, boxes, carts, trash, dollies, containers.
• Ability to read and understand project documents such as prints and specs.
• Plan for the most efficient method of installing duct and piping systems.
• Participate in the Stretch and Flex program.
• Understand the safe effective operation of all necessary tools.
• Look for and communicate any safety issues with the foreman in each work area throughout the day.
