Join Our Team at Sphere Mechanical – Journeyman Pipe Fitter Wanted near Hill Air Force Base, Utah! Sphere Mechanical is seeking a skilled and reliable Journeyman Pipe Fitter with strong mechanical expertise to join our growing team serving the Hill Air Force Base area in Utah. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a respected mechanical contractor known for delivering top-tier HVAC and piping solutions.

In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, assembly, and maintenance of mechanical piping systems according to detailed plans and specifications. We’re looking for a professional with a keen eye for precision, a solid grasp of pipefitting techniques, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:
  1. Interpret plans, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of piping systems.
  2. Measure, cut, and bend pipes using hand and power tools such as pipe cutters, threading machines, and bending machines.
  3. Install and assemble piping systems, including joining pipes by welding, brazing, soldering, and threading.
  4. Inspect and test installed systems for leaks and ensure proper functioning.
  5. Collaborate with other team members, including plumbers, HVAC technicians, and construction personnel, to complete projects efficiently.
  6. Adhere to safety standards and protocols at all times, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following established procedures.
  7. Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked.
Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of low-voltage electrical wiring and high-voltage connections.
  • Applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have required state and local HVAC technician licenses.
  • Certification or associate’s degree from an HVAC program at a technical school and 2+ years as an HVAC installation technician.

Compensation: $32 - $36 hourly
