Job Description:

The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking a Journeyman Network Engineer to be responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure and services within USSTRATCOM. This role involves ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of network operations critical to national defense and strategic command functions.

The work location for this position is Omaha, Nebraska. The position is contingent upon award of the United States Strategic Command SCITLS contract.

Responsibilities:

Network Engineer, Journeyman:

  • Engineers network, routing, and switching capabilities for voice/video/data networks

  • Performs networking technology, including LAN/WAN hardware, switches, bridges, and routers

  • Performs and implements secure transfer of data to multiple locations via internal/external networks

  • Works with vendors/Government/carriers/tech staff on network implementation, optimization, and ongoing management

  • Guides/performs design, build, configuration, test, and documentation tasks

  • Possesses and applies expertise on multiple, complex work assignments

  • Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks

  • Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems

  • Must be willing and able to work rotating shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays) as required by mission needs

  • Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned by leadership to meet mission requirements and support USSTRATCOM objectives. Depending on experience and team structure, this role may involve working under direct supervision or potentially providing guidance, training, or supervision to others

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Top Secret security clearance with SCI

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field

  • 5 years of experience in network engineering or related roles

  • Required 8140 Cert within 6 months of start date: 441 - Basic; CND or Network+; OR Applicable degree ABET accredited/CAE designated; OR Training

AND

  • Additional Cert: N/A

  • Proficient in network protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs)

  • Experience with network monitoring tools and security practices

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
