Job summary

Town of East Longmeadow is seeking a skilled Automotive Mechanic to maintain and repair the Town’s fleet of passenger vehicles, trucks, and heavy equipment. This full-time union position involves applying journeyman-level skills under supervision, with inspections and tests during repair work.

Qualified applicants will have a High School diploma or equivalent, extensive automotive experience, a valid Class A or B CDL with a catch basin endorsement, and First Aid certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Considerable and valid experience as a skilled automotive mechanic.
• CDL Class A or B license and hoisting endorsement.
• First Aid training or certificate.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, repairs, overhauls passenger vehicles, trucks, tractors, and other municipal equipment.
• Operates welding and cutting tools in automotive repair work.
• Tests and overhauls gasoline and diesel motors; performs inspections during process.
