Job Overview
Georgia-Pacific is hiring a Journeyman Millwright in Camas, Washington. Starting pay ranges $44.71–$46.43 per hour DOE, with shift differentials of $1.50 per hour for Swing Shift and $3.00 per hour for Graveyard Shift. A $3,000 sign‑on bonus is paid after 120 days. Responsibilities
- Perform assigned preventative maintenance tasks.
- Conduct industrial maintenance such as bearings set‑up, optical‑laser alignment, pump rebuilds, mounting and unmounting.
- Execute preventative and corrective maintenance on all types of industrial equipment.
- Adhere to plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Assist crew members in a team environment.
- Keep work area clean before, during, and after shifts.
- Maintain safety guards on equipment and follow lock‑out/tag‑out procedures.
- Perform tasks requiring lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to 12 hours per day in a loud, hot, humid, dusty, greasy, high‑volume environment.
- Support safety by wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years of industrial maintenance mechanical experience.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with reliability/precision maintenance.
- Experience in the pulp & paper industry.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing motors, gearboxes, bearings, chains, sprockets, conveyors.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Experience operating heavy machinery such as forklifts and cranes and understanding hand signals.
- Experience in at least two of the following trades: industrial millwright, welder, pipefitter, machinist, lubrication technician.
- Computer skills for generating, distributing, and maintaining maintenance records.
- Industrial mechanical maintenance certificate from an accredited vocational/community college with ≥3 years of maintenance mechanic experience.
- Completion of an approved maintenance mechanic apprenticeship program or equivalent with ≥2 years in an industrial manufacturing environment.
