Job summary

Foodland Super Market in Hawaii is hiring experienced Meat Cutters to join the team. This hourly, full-time role requires ensuring the meat cases are stocked with fresh, high-quality products and delivering excellent service to customers.

Applicants must be at least 18, able to lift up to 75 pounds, and have completed an apprenticeship to qualify for journeyman status. Evening and weekend availability is strongly preferred, with a comprehensive benefits package offered.

Qualifications

• High school education preferred or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Stock and merchandise meat department products for display and sale.
• Receive, stock, cut, grind, wrap, weigh, price and merchandize meat.
• Order and stock prepackaged deli items and frozen meat products.
• Maintain inventory control and product rotation to maximize freshness and minimize waste.
• Assist customers with requests and answer questions about meat products and services; operate meat-handling equipment.

Meat Cutters are responsible for ensuring the meat cases are well-stocked with fresh, high-quality meat and poultry products for our customers. They receive, stock, cut, grind, wrap, weigh, price, and attractively merchandise meat department products. They also order and stock prepackaged deli items and frozen food products that fall under the meat department. They ensure proper inventory control and product rotation to maximize product freshness and availability, while minimizing waste. They assist customers with special requests and answer questions about our meat products and services. Meat cutters work with equipment like meat saws, slicers, grinders, wrapping machines, and knives.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be able to frequently lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
• Must successfully pass apprentice / training apprentice program
• Must have TB Clearance
• Must comply with all company policies and requirements
