Job summary

Ervin Industries, Inc. is seeking a journeyman maintenance mechanic to maintain and repair heavy industrial equipment in a manufacturing setting. The role requires independence in prioritizing plant needs and performing installations of new machinery.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and using a range of tools and equipment. A minimum of 5 years as a journeyman is expected, with basic welding skills preferred.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Maintenance Mechanic or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years as a journeyman in an industrial manufacturing setting
• Ability to demonstrate and apply mechanical aptitude
• Able to read blueprints, equipment specs and installation instructions
• Basic welding (stick, MIG, TIG) and fabrication skills

Job description

Manufacturing maintenance – perform maintenance, repair and installation of various equipment in order to maintain a safe and effective production environment

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow all safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
• Repair and rebuild heavy industrial equipment.
• Work independently – prioritize plant needs based on production sensitivity
• Perform installation and setup of new production machinery.
• Perform safety inspections and preventive maintenance on specified items.
• Troubleshooting – diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Frequently required to work from heights, ladders, operate and work from a man lift, operate a fork truck and hand jack
• Journeyman Maintenance Mechanic or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years as a journeyman/equivalent in an industrial manufacturing setting
• Ability to demonstrate and apply mechanical aptitude
• Able to use hand tools, power tools, and measurement instruments
• Basic ability to read blueprints, equipment specifications and installation instructions.

RECOMMENDED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Basic welding (stick, MIG, TIG) and fabrication skills
• Ability to lift 35 lbs. on a regular basis
• Standing, walking while performing duties
• Occasionally required to climb, stoop, or kneel

WORKING SCHEDULE:

• Second shift: 3:00pm – 11:30 pm M-F
• Overtime and weekends as required.

COMPENSATION:

• Shift Premium for hours outside of day shift.
