Job Summary

Journeyman Maintenance Technician – $41.27 per hour. Strong electrical and mechanical skills with an emphasis on organization and follow‑up. Requires good communication for teamwork in a plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled mechanical/electrical repairs to plant equipment and systems.
• Interpret electrical and mechanical schematics; troubleshoot and repair equipment such as starters, motors, photo‑eyes, inverters, PLCs, and inspection machinery.
• Carry out maintenance on fire‑house, furnace, Batch, and pack equipment, including welding, brazing, cutting, and soldering as needed.
• Operate cutting torches, stick welders, and hand/power tools; use testing equipment, including voltage and amp meters.
• Assist with starting compressors, vacuum pumps, and related equipment after power failures.
• Cover scheduled vacations, weekends, holidays, and callouts; be available for overtime and 7‑day shift rotations.
• Maintain work area cleanliness and follow SOPs and safety requirements (lifting 50+ lbs, climbing ladders, working 150+ feet, wearing respirators and PPE).
• Document work in log sheets and report any changes or issues to management.

Qualifications

• Certified Journeyman Repairman with valid electrical journeyman card.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems with ability to diagnose and repair plant equipment.
• Experience with PLC programming and laptop diagnostics.
• Proficiency in welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, stick), brazing, cutting, and soldering.
• Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, work at heights up to 150 feet, and operate in high‑temperature environments.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to follow SOPs and complete task documentation.
• Good communication skills for a team environment.
