Automation Movers International is a full-service mechanical integration company specializing in the installation and movement of production and automation equipment. The journeyman machinist role focuses on setting up and operating CNC Horizontal Machining Centers or Horizontal Boring Mills to machine large, complex automation components.

The ideal candidate will read blueprints with GD&T, select tooling, adjust offsets, and verify dimensions with high-precision inspection tools.

Competenze

• Experience setting up CNC machines and parts.
• Experience with HMC or Horizontal Boring Mills.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T.
• Strong knowledge of cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and workholding.

We are seeking an experienced Journeyman Machinist with a strong background in CNC machining for automation equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience operating and setting up Horizontal Machining Centers (HMC) or Horizontal Boring Mills and be comfortable machining large, complex components.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Horizontal Machining Centers or Horizontal Boring Mills
• Set up parts, fixtures, tooling, and work offsets
• Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
• Perform precision machining of automation components and tooling
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment
• Make machine adjustments and troubleshoot machining issues
• Load programs and make necessary program edits
• Maintain accurate dimensions and quality standards

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience setting up CNC machines and parts
• Experience with HMC or Horizontal Boring Mills
• Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T
• Strong knowledge of cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and workholding
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments

Preferred

• CNC programming experience
• Experience with Mazak, Okuma, Haas, Makino, DMG MORI, Toshiba, or similar equipment
• Experience with CNC conversational programming

Key Requirement

Must be able to independently set up parts and operate a Horizontal Machining Center or Horizontal Boring Mill. CNC programming experience is strongly preferred.
