Job summary

Automation Movers International (AMI) in Erie, MI is seeking an experienced Journeyman Machinist with a strong CNC background to work on automation equipment. You will set up and operate HMCs or Horizontal Boring Mills, read blueprints, and ensure precision part quality.

The ideal candidate has proven experience with CNC machines, GD&T, and tooling selection, and can troubleshoot machining issues while maintaining strict dimensional tolerances.

Qualifications

• Journeyman-level machining experience.
• Proven experience setting up CNC machines and parts.
• Experience with HMC or Horizontal Boring Mills.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T.
• Strong knowledge of cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and workholding.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Horizontal Machining Centers or Horizontal Boring Mills.
• Set up parts, fixtures, tooling, and work offsets.
• Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.
• Perform precision machining of automation components and tooling.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment.
• Make machine adjustments and troubleshoot machining issues.
• Load programs and make necessary program edits.
• Maintain accurate dimensions and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Horizontal Machining Centers or Horizontal Boring Mills
