Tjader & Highstrom Utility Services, LLC is seeking a Journeyman Lineman to support distribution voltage projects in Wisconsin and Iowa. The role offers a $1,000 sign-on bonus with a 6-month stay requirement and frequent overtime, including storm outages.

The candidate will perform overhead/underground line work, climb poles, install components, and operate substation equipment while adhering to strict safety standards. Valid US work authorization and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• :18 years or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• Valid state driver’s license (not Provisional) with acceptable driving record
• Previous Construction experience, preferably telecom
• Knowledge of high voltage line construction and tools used in overhead/underground work
• Pole top and bucket rescue proficiency
• Safety precautions for high voltage work and compliance with laws/codes
• Ability to organize, supervise and train others
• Record keeping of time and materials
• Ability to follow and communicate instructions well
• CPR and First Aid certified or ability to obtain within three months
• Ability to pass DOT physicals and drug testing
• Drive company vehicles safely and follow traffic laws
• Familiarity with company policies and procedures

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical line work in maintenance, construction, and extension of overhead and underground power systems
• Climb poles and frame, erect and remove poles
• Install, remove, and repair cross arms, transformers, racks, switches, regulators, switches, meters
• String conductors for distribution systems
• Tree trimming when needed
• Operate sectionalizing and isolating equipment in substations
• Repair overhead and underground line facilities
• Follow safety policies and use safety equipment at all times and work overtime
• Be available for storm outages and emergencies
• Evaluate Apprentice progress and abilities
• Other duties as assigned
