Irby Construction Company is hiring a Journeyman Lineman to support distribution line work across Florida, from Vero Beach to West Palm Beach. Candidates must complete a 42-month apprenticeship or have five years of continuous distribution line experience, with the ability to work independently and perform JTSA.

Qualifications

• Completed a 42-month apprenticeship program or five years of continuous distribution line construction/maintenance experience.
• Working knowledge of all aspects of distribution line work and the ability to work independently if required.
• Must be able to conduct a Job Task Safety Analysis (JTSA) as required.
• Relocation may be required and reading blueprints may be necessary.
• May hold a valid class “B” commercial driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Work in the line industry as an apprentice lineman with oversight and perform distribution line tasks.
• Safely install and remove cover up material and handle conductors.
• String, sag, and dead-end conductor; climb poles/towers using fall protection; troubleshoot distribution systems.
• Safely dig holes near underground utilities; set/replace poles on energized systems; perform re-conductor jobs.
