Irby Construction Company invites applications for a Journeyman Lineman to join our Florida-based distribution line team. The role requires an approved 42‑month apprenticeship or equivalent training, with five years of continuous line experience. Expect field assignments spanning from Vero Beach to West Palm Beach, FL.

Candidates must safely perform line work on energized systems, install cover material, and operate climbing and rigging equipment. Relocation may be required per project needs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of distribution line experience as an apprentice or journeyman.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Commitment to safety regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work safely on energized and de-energized distribution systems.
• Install and remove cover up material when required.
• String, sag, and dead-end conductors on lines and poles/towers.
• Climb poles/towers using fall protection systems.
• Troubleshoot distribution system issues and diagnose faults.
• Read and interpret blueprints to plan work.
