Job summary

Freres Engineered Wood in Lyons, Oregon is seeking a Journeyman Electrician to install, maintain and repair electrical systems on industrial equipment. You will read schematics, wiring diagrams and blueprints, and work with PLCs, HMIs and motion controllers to keep production running safely and efficiently.

The role is full-time with a swing shift. Wage range is $38.60–$40.60 per hour, with benefits including PTO, health/dental insurance, and retirement options.

Qualifications

• Educational Requirements: High School Graduate or GED
• Experience Requirements: Mill experience with laminated veneer lumber, plywood, etc.
• License: Journeyman Manufacturing Plant (PJ) or General Journeyman
• Read and understand electrical schematics
• Proven leadership skills
• Analytical, problem-solving, computer and math skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to make important decisions under pressure
• Time management skills
• Flexible and adaptable to changing roles and responsibilities
• Work independently and with minimal supervision
• Team-oriented and able to collaborate with plant management and customers

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and components of industrial machinery following codes and diagrams.
• Installs power supply wiring and conduit for new machines and equipment.
• Diagnoses malfunctions, replaces parts, tests and adjusts control modules.
• Prepares wiring diagrams to record changes.
• Experience with hardware and software programming is a benefit.
• Install, maintain and troubleshoot various industrial electronic devices (HMI, VFD, robotics, instrumentation).
• Develop and maintain programs for Modicon, Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLCs, HMI, and motion controllers.
