Qualifications

• The Journeyman I will perform steel erection, fabrication, and installation tasks, including structural steel assembly, welding, and rigging.
• Interpret welding symbols, blueprints, and shop drawings to ensure accuracy and quality of welds and fabrications.
• Follow safety regulations and promote a culture of safety on site.

Responsibilities

• Structural steel erection and installation of beams, columns, and trusses per plans.
• Use hand and power tools, welding equipment, and rigging gear to position components and ensure alignment.
• Welding and fabrication using stick, MIG, and oxyacetylene cutting.
• Interpret welding symbols, blueprints, and shop drawings for weld quality.
• Assist with rigging and hoisting operations using cranes and rigging equipment.
• Inspect rigging gear for wear and report issues for repair or replacement.
• Adhere to safety regulations, participate in safety meetings, and promote safe practices.
• Perform visual quality inspections and assist with testing to meet standards.
• Collaborate with crew, subcontractors, and project managers; communicate progress and issues.
