Job summary

SAINT LOUIS PUBLIC SCHOOLS is seeking an HVAC Technician to perform HVAC services, identify repair needs, and support other trades. The role requires installing and maintaining heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems, meeting with contractors, and ensuring safe, efficient operation of facilities.

The position requires at least six years of journeyman HVAC experience, a high school diploma or technical high school, with an associate/technical degree preferred and a Universal EPA Refrigeration

Qualifications

• Minimum of six years of Journeyman HVAC experience.
• High School Diploma or Technical High School (required).
• Associate or Technical Degree (preferred).
• Universal EPA Refrigeration Certificate License.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with requesting departments and other trades to complete projects/work orders efficiently.
• Diagnosis malfunctions of heating/air conditioning/refrigeration systems to identify repair/replacement needs.
• Directs other maintenance workers as needed to ensure safe, proper, and timely completion of assignments.
• Installs heating/air conditioning/refrigeration systems and related equipment to provide comfort inside facilities.
• Maintains tools, supplies, and equipment to ensure availability and safe operating condition.
• Meets contractors and engineers to discuss problems with new installation and future projects.
• Orders equipment and supplies to maintain inventory and ensure availability of required items.
• Prepares documentation to provide written support or convey information.
• Repairs various items, systems, and components for renovation and preventive maintenance.
• Requests equipment and supplies to maintain inventory.
• Responds to emergencies to resolve safety concerns.
• Transports tools, equipment, and supplies to the job site.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
