Job summary

LAUKOA is seeking a qualified Journeyman HVAC Technician to support facilities operations at Fort Meade, Maryland. This position performs preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repair, installation, testing, and modification of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), and refrigeration systems in Government-owned facilities.

The candidate will ensure HVAC systems are maintained in a safe, reliable, and efficient operating condition while complying with contract requirements,

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of commercial HVAC, refrigeration, and building automation control systems.
• Knowledge of applicable mechanical codes, industry standards, and manufacturer recommendations.
• Ability to diagnose HVAC system malfunctions and perform effective repairs.
• Basic computer skills sufficient to receive work assignments, enter data, and complete required documentation.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary maintenance team.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Diagnose and repair HVAC, refrigeration, and control systems.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair air handling units, rooftop units, split systems, chillers, boilers, pumps, and related HVAC equipment.
• Perform system testing, equipment adjustments, and operational checks for proper performance.
• Respond to service calls and complete work orders timely.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, and manuals.
• Maintain documentation of completed work, labor, refrigerant usage, and materials.
• Coordinate with maintenance personnel to support operations.
• Operate hand and power tools and diagnostic instruments safely.
• Keep work areas clean and compliant with safety and contract requirements.
