Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Pittsburgh seeks a journeyman AC equipment mechanic in the AC Shop of the Utilities Section. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair HVAC and refrigeration equipment across Heinz and University Drive facilities.

Position requires demonstrated training or experience aligned with the job elements and provides supervision under the Utilities Supervisor with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Evidence of training or experience sufficient to perform HVAC/refrigeration duties.
• Applicants will be rated according to the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards.
• A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours per week; part-time experience is credited proportionally.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair HVAC and refrigeration equipment and systems.
• Work under supervision of Utilities Supervisor in the AC Shop.
