Job summary

Seattle City Light is seeking Journey Level Cable Splicers to splice high and low voltage cables and maintain street lighting systems. The role requires reading blueprints, following safety rules, and using specialized hand and power tools.

These positions report to a Network Crew Chief/Supervisor and are based at the North Service Center, with duties outdoors in all weather and potential night shifts. A Washington State license is required.

Qualifications

• Requires three years of experience in the electrical trades working under the supervision of a journey level Cable Splicer.
• Current Washington State driver's license and a combination license or evidence of equivalent mobility.

Responsibilities

• Splices, maintains and terminates all types of high and low voltage power cables and street lighting systems.
• Pulls, racks and secures cables in manholes, conduit, tunnels, vaults and other installations.
• Installs, maintains, repairs and removes electrical conductors, transformers, network protectors, relays and switches.
• Locates and repairs faults in underground network distribution systems and substations.
• Installs and maintains street lighting systems and equipment.
• Works with maps and cut sheets to perform switching for power dispatchers.
