Journeyman Hardware Technician

Job Category: Engineering

The Opportunity:

CCI is seeking a Journeyman Hardware Technician responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting server hardware and applications supporting USSTRATCOM. This role requires a strong understanding of server infrastructure, diagnostic testing, and operational maintenance (O&M) protocols.

The work location is Omaha, Nebraska. The position is contingent upon award of the USSTRATCOM SCITLS contract.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor server applications and services using authorized software (e.g., SolarWinds, VMware Aria Operations) to respond proactively to hardware issues.
  • Perform diagnostic tests on hardware to identify faults.
  • Install and configure hardware components.
  • Repair or replace damaged hardware.
  • Install, replace, repair, remove, fabricate, and test LAN cabling per policies and best practices.
  • Test new hardware systems to verify operation.
  • Analyze and correct equipment performance issues after troubleshooting.
  • Record and report hardware changes accurately.
  • Apply expertise on complex assignments, demonstrating originality and innovation.
  • Operate with latitude in developing solutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet mission requirements, which may include guiding or training others.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in server hardware support, preferably in a military or government setting
  • Certification: 8140 Cert (e.g., 411 - Basic, A+, Network+) within 6 months of start

Additional certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Server+ are strongly desired. Proficiency in diagnostics, repair, and familiarity with Windows Server and Linux are required. Strong problem-solving, communication skills, and attention to detail are essential.

Proposed salary: $65,000 - $136,500
