Job description

Midwest CATV, Inc.(MCI) is seeking a motivated, reliable Minnesota Class A Journeyman Electrician to join our electrical/civil team. This is a full-time, travel-based position focused on ground-level work at cell tower sites and electric vehicle (EV) charging station installations across the Midwest.

Position Overview

You will work primarily on the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems at cell tower sites and EV charging stations. This role is ideal for a tech-savvy, adaptable electrician who enjoys working on diverse projects and traveling extensively. Note: This position does not require tower climbing; all work is performed at ground level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, examine, replace, and repair electrical wiring, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic/coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and other components.
  • Install and commission AC/DC power systems, including power cabinets for EV charging stations and telecom equipment.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and manufacturers’ specifications to ensure code-compliant installations.
  • Support the team in maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
  • Complete daily task reports and safety documentation.
  • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with other trades and project managers.
  • Maintain a professional attitude with co-workers, clients, and the public.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies.
  • Willingness to travel across the Midwest extensively (up to 90% or more)
Qualifications
  • Valid Minnesota Class A Journeyman Electrician License (required)
  • Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain journeyman electrician licenses in other states as needed.
  • Proven experience with low-voltage, AC, and DC systems.
  • Experience with electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and/or telecommunications site work is a plus.
  • Ability to install AC/DC power cabinets and related infrastructure.
  • Strong attention to detail and solid communication skills.
  • Ability to read and understand the scope of work, plans, and safety forms.
  • Physically able to lift/carry up to 70 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions.
  • Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment/random drug tests.
  • Basic math skills and proficiency in English.
Work Schedule & Compensation
  • Full-time, primarily Monday-Friday, with occasional weekends
  • Day shift preferred; alternative shifts may be accommodated for the right candidate.
  • Pay: $46.00–$48.00 per hour, plus overtime and bonus pay.
