The Utilities Division is seeking a skilled and experienced Streetlight Maintenance Journeyman Electrician to support our team in San Antonio, TX. JOB SUMMARY:

The Utilities Division is looking for an experienced Streetlight Maintenance Journeyman Electrician, or a Lineman, that will support the Utilities team with installing and maintaining electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems for streetlight installations and maintenance per plans and specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Install and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in streetlights.
2. Install various electrical components.
3. Troubleshoot secondary systems.
4. Identify primary and secondary voltage on circuits.
5. Safely operate a bucket truck.
6. Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any issues encountered on the job site.
7. Submit completed paperwork via use of an iPad.
8. Follow all safety policies and guidelines set by HJD Capital Electric.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

1. 3+ years of experience pulling wire, installing conduit, and installing fixtures.
2. Journeyman/Lineman license in the state of Texas or Lineman equivalent to Journeyman.
3. Basic knowledge and experience of operating hand and power tools.
4. Willing to learn from supervisor the use of locator for underground wire systems.
5. Experience working on streetlights and can drive a bucket truck.
6. Able to size wire, read drawings, and interpret blueprints.
7. Capable of working in confined spaces and at heights.
8. Familiar with induced voltage and grounding procedures.
9. Able to check voltage on transformers.
10. Experience working outdoors in extreme weather conditions (heat and cold).
11. Physical capability to carry up to 50 lbs. and perform manual labor.
12. Strong attention to detail and initiative to perform additional tasks when needed.
13. Must have a safety-first mindset to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
14. Highly skilled in troubleshooting/computer skills.
15. Valid CDL holder.
