Job summary

Generator Supercenter, Inc. is seeking a Journeyman Electrician to join our installation and service teams in Wheeling, IL. You will wire, install, and maintain standby generator systems and related electrical equipment, delivering code‑compliant work for residential and light commercial projects.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Electrician level via experience or licensing/registration.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 4 years of residential or commercial electrical experience.
• Strong knowledge of the NEC (National Electrical Code).
• Ability to read electrical drawings and blueprints.
• Comfortable working with tools, conduit benders, and test meters.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in various conditions.

Responsibilities

• Pull wire, bend and install conduit, and wire electrical devices and control panels.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
• Install electrical components for generator systems including ATS.
• Perform load testing, electrical diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
• Assist in preparing generator sites, including trenching, piping, and setting mechanical components.
• Conduct AC and DC electrical work for power generation systems.
• Use electrical measurement and testing equipment proficiently and safely.
• Ensure all installations meet local and national electrical codes.
• Promote a safe and positive work environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
