Job summary

Generator Supercenter, Inc. is seeking a Journeyman Electrician to join our team in Wheeling, IL. You will wire, install and maintain standby generator systems and related electrical equipment for residential and light commercial applications.

Work with our installation and service crews to ensure code-compliant, safe installations, perform diagnostics, and support site preparation and testing. Candidates should have a Journeyman license or equivalent experience, strong NEC knowledge, and the

Qualifications

• Must be at a Journeyman Electrician Level via experience or licensing/education/registration.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 4 years of residential or commercial electrical experience.
• Strong knowledge of the NEC (National Electrical Code).
• AC and DC electrical experience preferred.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Pull wire, bend and install conduit, and wire electrical devices and control panels.
• Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
• Install electrical components for generator systems including ATS (Automatic Transfer Switches).
• Perform load testing, electrical diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
• Assist in preparing generator sites, including trenching, piping, and setting mechanical components.
• Conduct AC and DC electrical work for power generation systems.
• Use electrical measurement and testing equipment proficiently and safely.
• Ensure all installations meet local and national electrical codes.
