Qualifications

Completion of high school education or equivalent.
Trade-specific Trades Helper program, apprenticeship, or an associate degree.
Five years of electrical trade experience, including four years commercial installation.
State of Michigan Journeyman Electrician license.
Master’s Electrician license required for progression at 24 months.
Expert knowledge of electrical codes, rules, and safety precautions.
Valid driver's license; CDL may be required with endorsements.
Must furnish own hand tools.
Frequent lifting 26–75 lbs; occasional over 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair secondary power distribution systems (120-600V).
Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment and related systems (security, fire alarms).
Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems.
Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications for repairs and projects.
