Shift Start Time: 06:00am - 02:00pm

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Lead Journeyman Electrician to join our team at the Chicago O'Hare Airport. The ideal candidate shall have a minimum of three (3) years of experience, with mechanical and electrical aptitude, and strong skills with industrial control devices. Responsibilities include maintenance and repair of electrical, mechanical, and control systems related to airport baggage handling, including controls, PLCs, and scanner systems. The Lead Journeyman Electrician must be capable of operating and maintaining all equipment and systems within this scope, demonstrating excellent leadership, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Fluency in English is required.

Responsibilities

1. Maintenance and repair of electrical, mechanical, and control devices and components associated with airport conveyor systems.
2. Operation and maintenance of all specified equipment and systems.
3. Ensuring maintenance services from the main equipment disconnect to the end device are performed effectively.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years experience in a related field.
• Strong skills with industrial control devices.
• Attention to detail for precise measurements.
• Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Current Journeyman Electrician certification.

Standard Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Government ID and Social Security card.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an airport security badge.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to work in extreme conditions, including hot and cold weather and confined spaces.
• Ability to receive security clearances after background checks.
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Extended hours as operationally needed.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
