Job summary

Southland Industries in Houston, TX, is seeking a Journeyman Service Electrician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities. You will diagnose issues, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure compliance with codes and safety standards.

The role emphasizes customer service, cost-effective solutions, and teamwork with apprentices.

Qualifications

Active Texas Journeyman Electrical license.
Completed 5-year electrical apprenticeship program.
OSHA-10 certification or must obtain within six months from date of hire.
Ability to read blueprints, layout plans and wiring diagrams.
Proficient at inspecting, troubleshooting, and making repairs on electrical systems.

Responsibilities

Evaluate customer needs and make recommendations for correction and/or improvement.
Install, remove, maintain, and repair electrical systems and related equipment.
Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using measuring devices, hand tools, threaders, and benders.
Install and connect power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical apparatus following diagrams or blueprints.
Troubleshoot and resolve problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment.
