Job summary

J&L Electric is hiring a Journeyman Electrician to support a wide range of field electrical work across commercial, industrial, residential, service, and petroleum-related projects in Battle Creek, MI. This hands-on role requires installation, troubleshooting, and safe execution on active jobsites.

The ideal candidate will have a Michigan Journeyman license, 3+ years of hands-on experience, and the ability to read blueprints and NEC standards.

Qualifications

Active Michigan Journeyman Electrician License
Valid driver’s license
Minimum 3 years of hands-on commercial or industrial electrical experience
Experience running conduit, pulling wire, installing panels, and completing field installations
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and electrical plans
Strong working knowledge of NEC requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work safely on active jobsites

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems per NEC.
Perform work across commercial, industrial, residential, service, and petroleum environments.
Read blueprints and install wiring, panels, and equipment on new installations.
Troubleshoot field issues and propose practical solutions.
Travel regionally for project work with per diem and lodging provided when needed.
Mentor apprentices and uphold safety standards on jobsites.
