Job summary

The Franklin County Department of Human Resources seeks an Electrician to install, repair, and maintain electrical systems across county buildings and facilities. You will diagnose problems, identify hazards, and perform preventative maintenance on electrical equipment including generators and emergency systems.

Good reading of drawings and coordination with contractors is required. A high school diploma or GED with vocational electrical training and five years of licensed Electrician experience

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with vocational/technical training in electrical work and five years of experience as a licensed Electrician.
• Equivalent combination of training and experience also accepted.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain electrical systems in county buildings and facilities.
• Diagnose problems and identify electrical systems and devices; address safety hazards.
• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical equipment, heaters, transformers, UPS and emergency lights.
• Read drawings and blueprints; coordinate with outside contractors for generator maintenance.
• Prepare reports and maintain inventory; order parts with approved purchase orders.
