Job summary

Black & Veatch Family of Companies in Canton, MS seeks a Journeyman Electrician to plan, lay-out, install, test and repair wiring, fixtures, motors and control systems per plans and codes.

You will work with safety programs, perform electrical tasks across high and low voltage systems, and ensure quality workmanship in a construction site environment. The role requires NEC knowledge and valid licenses as applicable.

This is a safety-sensitive role with potential for overtime and advancement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience as an industrial electrician.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC and electrical codes.
• Licenses/certifications for the jurisdiction.
• Tools and PPE as required by job site.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lay-out, install, test and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, motors, equipment and control systems in accordance with plans, specs, codes and standards.
• Follow safety processes and programs; engage with team to achieve zero injuries.
• Maintain safe work environment; report hazards and participate in safety discussions.
• Read and interpret plans including one-line diagrams, cable/conduit schedules, ladder diagrams, P&ID's and loop diagrams.
• Coordinate work with other trades and provide on-the-job mentoring as needed.
• Test continuity of circuits and startup systems using measurement instruments.
