Job summary

North American Millwright Services Inc is seeking an electrical technician to install, maintain, and repair electrical and electronic systems across multi-state job sites. Frequent travel and strict safety adherence are required.

Under supervision, you will read blueprints, follow installation manuals, complete work orders, and mentor junior team members while delivering reliable, high-quality industrial projects for diverse clients along the East Coast.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman license preferred or enrolled in the fourth/final year of an apprenticeship program.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant work experience in an industrial manufacturing or mining environment.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing/mining equipment and electrical systems/high speed production equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

  • Fosters the safest possible working environment by adhering to OSHA/MSHA and company policies.
  • Ensures electrical systems adhere to national electrical standards and regulations.
  • Installs electrical systems using blueprints and wiring diagrams.
  • Completes work orders and records materials used on the job.
  • Conducts general electrical maintenance and troubleshoots issues with testing equipment.
  • Identifies and repairs electrical problems.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, perform skilled work in the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical and electronic systems, wiring, fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment; and perform related work as required. Frequent travel to customer job sites is required.

Duties/ Responsibilities:
  • Fosters the safest possible working environment by adhering to federal (OSHA/MSHA), state, and/or local safety regulations; and all company policies
  • Ensures that electrical systems adhere to the national electrical standards and regulations
  • Installs electrical systems
  • Uses blue prints, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer’s installation manuals to complete projects
  • Completes work orders and recording materials used on the job
  • Conducts general electrical systems maintenance and troubleshoots electrical issues with testing equipment
  • Identifies electrical problems and repairs them
  • Works individually or as part of a team to successfully complete projects
  • Projects a professional and respectful demeanor at all times when representing the Company; demonstrates self-control
  • Provides guidance, coaching and mentoring to less experienced team members
  • Conducts workplace exams prior to each shift; identifies and promptly resolves hazards
  • Conducts and documents pre-shift inspections on equipment and hand-tools; immediately reports safety defects identified
  • Provides daily project updates including productivity and other relevant project information
  • Performs other projects and duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA); and pertinent electrical codes and regulations

  • Must have vision, hearing, and ability to talk
  • Exposure to hot/cold temperatures
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
  • Ability to travel independently to multi-state customer job sites; for extended period at times
  • Strong manual dexterity and eye to hand coordination
  • Ability to identify wires by their distinct colors
