Job summary

Calvert County Government seeks a skilled Journeyman Electrician to perform installation, maintenance, and repair across County facilities and infrastructure. The role involves field work, supervising contractor tasks under a master electrician, and occasional training of staff.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, testing equipment, and ensuring compliance with codes and safety standards. Must have five years of relevant experience and a Maryland journeyman license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible electrical experience in commercial or industrial settings.
• Registration as a Journeyman Electrician with the State of Maryland is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection, diagnosis, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of electrical systems, circuits, and components in County facilities.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams; follow electrical codes and safety standards.
• Program controllers, develop schematics/ladder diagrams, install conduit, pull wire, and test equipment for proper operation.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify hazards, deficiencies, or code violations; maintain records.
