Job summary

Salt Lake County is seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot electrical systems across county facilities.

The role requires a valid Utah Journeyman Electrician’s license and the ability to pass a mandatory drug test. You will work with various electrical equipment, read drawings, and follow NFPA 70 code standards in a dynamic public sector environment.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid State of Utah Journeyman Electrician's License.
• Must pass a mandatory drug test before starting; random testing may occur.
• Background check required through fingerprinting and RAP Back program as per policy.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, modify, and test electrical circuits, systems, fixtures, panels, switches, and controls.
• Troubleshoot issues and inspect for defective equipment and wiring.
• Install, repair, modify, and program electronically controlled equipment at Journeyman to Master level.
• Use and maintain hand tools and electrical equipment.
• Follow safety rules and maintain a safe, clean work environment.
• Perform maintenance and inspection of electrical distribution components to prevent outages.
