Bertke Electric Co. has been delivering top-notch electrical services to the Greater Cincinnati area since 1928. We’ve had the privilege of contributing to some of Cincinnati’s landmark buildings, including the Hyatt Regency, Adams Landing, U.C. Geology and Physics Building, Riverbend Music Center, Kroger’s Headquarters, and numerous grocery stores, retail stores, and small office build-outs. Specializing in electrical service work, we maintain and repair electrical equipment, offer infrared/thermal imaging, arc flash studies, and arc flash training. Our commitment to training and the safety of our employees is paramount.

Position Overview:

We are expanding our team and seeking experienced Journeyman Electricians. The ideal candidates will have completed the required training and apprenticeship programs. The role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation: Install electrical systems, wiring, lighting, and equipment in compliance with local and national electrical codes.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems, including troubleshooting, repairs, and replacements.
  • Blueprint Reading: Interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to plan and execute installations accurately.
  • Testing and Inspections: Use testing devices to verify the functionality of electrical systems, identify faults, and ensure safety compliance. Participate in inspections as needed.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment and address potential electrical hazards.
  • Code Compliance: Keep updated on electrical codes and regulations. Ensure all work meets required standards and obtain necessary permits.
  • Collaboration: Work with architects, contractors, and other construction professionals to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into building projects.
  • Customer Service: Engage with clients to understand their electrical needs, provide recommendations, and resolve any concerns, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
  • Problem Solving: Diagnose and address electrical issues efficiently, providing effective solutions and repairs.
  • Team Leadership: Occasionally lead a team of apprentices or other electricians, offering guidance and supervision.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of work performed, including specifications, materials used, and changes made.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay current with technological advancements and industry trends by attending training sessions and workshops.
