Evergreen Innovation Group, part of the DPR Family of Companies, is seeking a motivated Electrical Journeyman to join our vibrant team in Bay Area, CA. Under general supervision, they will install electrical systems, services, and equipment in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards, as directed by the Foreman. They will ensure the safe condition and operation of all electrical fixtures and systems and adhere to established work timelines to meet the construction schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, power equipment, and components of machinery and equipment following electrical code, manuals, specifications, schematics, and blueprints.
- Install and repair control and distribution apparatus, including motors, relays, switches, thermostats, circuit-breaker panels, etc.
- Install and connect power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical apparatus for machines and equipment in new and existing facilities following diagrams, schematics, or blueprints.
- Diagnose and resolve problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment using testing instruments and equipment.
- Test continuity of circuits to ensure compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments.
- Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using rulers, measuring devices, hand tools, pipe threader, and conduit bender.
- Receive and complete work orders.
- Select material and hardware necessary to complete assigned tasks.
- Accurately report material and labor used to complete projects.
- Maintain company-owned tools, equipment, and materials responsibly.
- Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean.
- Demonstrate understanding and enthusiastic agreement with the vision and mission of EIG, LLC.
- Participate effectively in team environments, collaborating with building principals, General Contractors, and supervisors.
- Follow and enforce safety standards (IFE) and uphold exemplary quality of work set forth by EIG, LLC.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and written reference materials.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Perform mathematical calculations.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical problems.
- Use hand and power tools proficiently.
- Contribute to a safety-conscious culture in construction environments.
- Strong desire to learn and grow, working under the supervision of the Foreman.
- Strong work ethic and a “can-do” attitude.
Education and Experience
- Knowledge of electrical circuits and wiring.
- Knowledge of electrical codes.
- Pass a background check, including drug testing.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- 5+ years of experience in Commercial Construction Electrical field.
Physical Requirements
- Continuous walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and heavy lifting.
- Work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
- Exposure to varying temperatures and conditions.
- Some travel may be required.
