Job Description

Note: The hourly rate for this position is $40 - $45/hour. This range is a good-faith estimate based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, education, training, geographic location, and other considerations permitted by law. Responsibilities:

  1. Able to read blueprints.
  2. Have a working knowledge of and ability to refer to the current Electrical Code.
  3. Able to positively identify wire colors.
  4. Wear personal protective equipment when required (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, work boots, respirator, hearing protection, fall protection, cut-resistant gloves, etc.).
  5. Maintain tools, equipment, supplies, and work area in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
  6. Maintain good housekeeping, including sweeping work areas, organizing tools and materials, cleaning surfaces, and keeping areas free of debris and tripping hazards.
  7. Transport tools and materials, sometimes walking and carrying objects up to 50 pounds, over stairs, gravel, or while pushing/pulling equipment, with or without assistance.
  8. Bend, stoop, and regain balance when installing electrical boxes, pipes, etc., often spanning from floor to ceiling.
  9. Perform lifting, positioning, holding, fastening, drilling, or hammering objects like conduit, motors, fixtures, poles, etc.
  10. Pull wires of all gauges, with or without assistance.
  11. Work in restricted and cramped areas such as switchgear rooms, manholes, tunnels, crawl spaces, attics, etc.
  12. Perform work at heights using ladders, scaffolds, lifts, roofs, or other equipment as needed.

Qualifications:

  1. 3+ years of commercial or industrial experience.
  2. Valid CIB journeyman license.
  3. Reliable transportation.
  4. Tools of the trade, including cordless impact.
  5. Ability to work in variable weather conditions.
  6. Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and walk for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  7. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
