You will read schematics, follow safety protocols, and coordinate with Crop and Department Managers to complete repairs and upgrades on the farm.

Responsibilities

• Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures per job specs and local codes.
• Inspect electrical systems and components for hazards and compliance; identify repairs.
• Test electrical systems or circuits using ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes.
• Diagnose faulty systems and locate causes of breakdowns with test equipment.
• Prepare work areas safely, including layouts, materials, tools and equipment.
• Disassemble, repair, install, reassemble, test and repair circuit fixtures and motors.
• Coordinate service drops and connections with utility companies.
• Perform system operation tests and troubleshoot failures.
• Replace faulty components (relays, switches, motors, transformers) with overload relays.
• Assist in troubleshooting control panels, towers and meter poles on the farm.

• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustments or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
• Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of the breakdown and correct the problem.
• Properly and safely prepare work area, which includes layouts, schematics, materials, tools, and equipment.
• Disassembles, repairs, installs, re-assembles, test, and repair circuit fixtures, equipment, and motors.
• Coordinates service drop and connection with utility companies
• Conducts system operations test and troubleshoot any system failures
• Replaces all faulty electrical components of machines, such as relays, switches, motors, and position sensing devices, transformers, and magnetic starters with overload relays.

• Provide cost estimates for materials or services.
• Conduct housekeeping within the shop during down times or when necessary.
