We are excited to announce an immediate hiring opportunity for experienced Commercial Journeyman Electricians for our San Antonio, TX division! This project is located in San Antonio and offers a great opportunity to advance your career!

What We Offer:

  • $1,000 Sign-On Bonus, paid after 60 days of employment with Walker Engineering.
  • Hour Incentive Bump added to your base wage, making your total hourly pay even more competitive. (contact for details)
  • Currently working 58 hrs. per week.

As a Journeyman Electrician with us, you'll become part of a dedicated team under the supervision of a Foreman or Superintendent. Your tasks will range from installations, modifications, additions, to repairs of electrical systems, all playing a pivotal role in delivering high-quality electrical solutions across a diverse array of tasks. Whether it's wiring projects or maintaining equipment, your proficiency will be key.

General Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Layout and preparation of materials for installation
  • Underground layout and rough-in
  • Determination of wire and conduit sizing
  • Measurement, cutting, bending, threading, assembling, and installing electrical conduit using various tools
  • Installation of BUSS feeders
  • Switchgear installation and terminations
  • Installation and connection of power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical apparatus in new and existing facilities following schematics or blueprints
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment
  • Operating necessary hand tools and equipment to complete tasks
  • Other project-related duties and assignments as instructed by a supervisor
  • Compliance with attendance standards and late/absence notification procedures

General Requirements:

  • Active TDLR Electrical Journeyman Card
  • Current Driver’s License and/or State ID
  • Basic hand tools of the trade
  • Minimum of 5 years commercial experience
  • Proven leadership skills and effective communication abilities
  • Understanding of production & material management
  • OSHA30 certification
  • Basic mechanical aptitude, mathematical and English skills
  • Basic understanding of electrical theory and its application to installations
  • Availability for occasional overtime work
  • Reliable transportation
  • Completion of pre-employment checks including physical, background check, and drug screening

Education Requirements:

  • High School Graduate, GED, or equivalent.
