Job Title: Journeyman Electrician
Job Summary:
As a Journeyman Electrician at Ironworks, you will be part of a dynamic team, working closely with experienced professionals to develop and enhance your skills in repairing, installing, and inspecting electrical systems. The Journeyman Electrician will also be responsible for supervising apprentices, ensuring they adhere to safety protocols and industry standards.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Install, service, and troubleshoot various electrical systems.
- Understand and apply blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Perform regular maintenance and preventative techniques to preserve system functionality.
- Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently to assist with electrical installations and maintenance.
- Use trenchers to dig trenches for laying electrical cables and conduits.
- Maneuver skid steers to transport materials, clear debris, and assist in site preparation.
- Operate the scissor lift to reach elevated work areas for installing and repairing electrical systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety and electrical codes.
- Collaborate with construction and engineering teams on new installations.
- Preparing sketches and schematics of wiring systems.
- Technical skills in electrical code and electrical systems.
- Attend training sessions, workshops, and classes to further develop technical skills and industry knowledge.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and any issues encountered.
- Comply with all safety laws, codes, and regulations to protect the safety and health of all employees.
- Oversee the Apprentice, offering guidance and feedback to help improve their skills.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in the electrical profession.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Equipment experience and proficiency in operating trenchers, skid steers, and scissor lifts.
- Eagerness to learn and a commitment to following safety regulations.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects as required.
- Adhere to State Regulations and standards for electrical work
- Complete Continuing Education requirements and sustain your license as required by the North Dakota State Electrical Board.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Completed recognized apprenticeship program and holds a Journeyman's license.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a Full Time position with an expected start time of 6 am, work hours may vary depending on workload and operational needs. Occasional nights and weekends may be required as necessary.
