Job summary

D&J Electric Company in Michigan is hiring a full-time Journeyman to join our residential and commercial teams. We specialize in New Construction, Remodels, Standby Generator Installs, EV charging, and service calls.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Journeyman License in Michigan and be in good standing.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical concerns in residential and commercial settings.
• Install electrical fixtures, components and systems according to code.
• Install standby generators and automatic transfer switches.
• Electrical/generator service calls.
• Heavy lifting and physical tasks; work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Follow standard practices and governmental regulations relating to powered equipment.
• Follow designated designs, instructions and codes; occasional machinery operation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose services on electrical concerns in both residential and commercial settings.
• Install electrical fixtures, components and systems according to code.
• Install Standby Generators and Automatic Transfer Switches.
• Electrical/Generator service calls
• Heavy lifting is required- Physical performance required but not limited to: bending, climbing ladders, pulling, grasping and walking on uneven surfaces.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures.
• Follow standard practices and governmental regulations and laws relating to powered equipment.
• Follow designated designs, instructions and codes.
• Occasional machinery operation.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• MUST have a current Journeyman License in the state of Michigan and be in good standing.
• Interpret technical manuals, blueprints and schematics.
• Skilled in interpersonal relations and written/ oral communications.
• Knowledge of electrical codes and safety regulations.
• Ability to work as a team as well as independent with minimal supervision. *Training will be provided for all services offered.
• Previous experience in New Construction & Remodel wiring, EV charging station and Stand-By Generator installations.
