Job description

The Opportunity:

Flock Safety is seeking a Journeyman Electrician to join our Product Deployment team. This team is composed of results-driven, detail-oriented individuals who combine a strong work ethic with critical thinking to install products that delight customers and support our transition to a multi-product company. The Journeyman Electrician will be responsible for installing and maintaining electrical systems and equipment according to National Electrical Code (NEC) standards and company policies. A solid understanding of electrical theory, practical application, and safety regulations is essential.

Required Availability: Work hours are Monday through Friday, with occasional extended hours to meet project deadlines and customer expectations.

Location: This position is based in San Antonio, Texas.

Travel: Expect frequent travel across the US for installation, maintenance, and testing activities, typically up to 3 weeks per month with a few days of travel at a time.

Responsibilities:

  1. Install and troubleshoot electrical components supporting Flock products.
  2. Perform testing and troubleshooting using electrical testing equipment.
  3. Adhere to safety regulations and NEC codes.
  4. Diagnose electrical problems efficiently.
  5. Estimate time and materials for projects.
  6. Ensure high-quality work completion.
  7. Potentially train and mentor apprentice electricians.
  8. Work with bucket trucks or ladders to reach equipment up to 30’ high.
  9. Provide installation pictures via the Flock field app.
  10. Maintain accurate work records.
  11. Perform work safely and professionally.
  12. Meet with customers for site surveys and discuss installation options.
  13. Communicate effectively with internal teams and customers.
  14. Install poles of varying lengths, dig holes at least 8” x 24”.

The Skillset:

  • Valid Journeyman Electrician license, preferably in Texas.
  • Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician (typically 4+ years).
  • Thorough knowledge of NEC.
  • Strong electrical theory and practical skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience with electrical testing equipment.
  • Effective troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with business systems like Salesforce.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Strong safety commitment.
  • Physical capability to perform job demands including lifting, bending, and working in various positions.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record.

  • Climbing ladders, stairs, scaffolding, poles.
  • Moving around worksites.
  • Handling objects up to 75 pounds.
  • Communicating, often over the phone.
  • Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, fingers.
  • Operating machinery and power tools.
  • Driving or operating heavy equipment.
  • Ensuring work accuracy and quality.

Environmental Conditions and Demands:

  • Light work involving moving objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Outdoor work in weather conditions.
  • Sitting/standing frequently.
  • Moving objects up to 50 pounds regularly, up to 100 occasionally.
  • Working in high/low temperatures, noisy, or hazardous environments.
