Job summary

Big G Electric & Engineering, LLC seeks an Industrial Journeyman Electrician to perform maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of industrial electrical systems across client sites in Alaska. You will read drawings, install conduit, wire, and control gear while upholding strict safety standards and quality workmanship.

Candidate must have a verifiable Texas Electrical Journeyman License, valid driver's license, and own hand tools; power tools provided by Big G.

Qualifications

• Must have Texas Electrical Journeyman License.
• Valid Driver's License with a safe driving record.
• Must supply own hand tools; power tools provided by Big G.
• Experience with conduit, wiring and control systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Run conduit, cable tray, pulling wire, terminating instrumentation and PLCs.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
• Install motor controls and 480V/medium voltage terminations.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
• May perform both low and high voltage tasks as needed.
• Maintain tools and equipment and uphold zero-incident safety culture.

Job description

Industrial Journeyman Electrician

Big G is looking for Industrial Journeyman Electricians to work in the Midland/Odessa/Monahan's, Texas areas. You will work under the direction of the Big G’s field management team. Journeyman Electricians will be responsible for performing highly skilled maintenance, installation, repair, and troubleshooting work involved with electrical systems.

Job Description

• Run conduit, cable tray, pulling wire, terminating instrumentation and PLC’s, motor controls, instrument tubing and 480v/medium voltage terminations.
• Ability to construct and fabricate racks, supports.
• Read and understand electrical drawings and specifications.
• Responsible for use and care of the tools and equipment commonly employed in industrial construction such as hydraulic/electric conduit benders, knockout punch sets, cable pullers, megger, and DMM’s.
• Interprets and ensures compliance with electrical codes and calculates line leads to determine wire and equipment size and capacity.
• Demonstrate safe work habits and proper care of equipment and tools.
• May perform both low voltage and high voltage tasks.
• Support the zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
• Must have in depth knowledge of conduit, fittings, methods of construction, code in relation to conduit applications.

Qualifications and Skills

• Must have a verifiable State of Texas Electrical Journeyman License.
• Valid Driver's License with a safe driving record.

Additional Information

• Must have own hand tools, power tools will be provided by Big G.

Work Location and Travel

This position will be based at any one of our client sites throughout Alaska.
