Job description

We are now hiring for Journeyman Electricians for a jobsite in Austin, TX. These positions are starting ASAP! Please submit your resume to this posting and call our office at 830-629-2525.

Pay: $36-$40/hr DOE

Monday-Friday 6:00am-2:30pm (Possible OT).

Job Summary:

As a Journeyman Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in a commercial setting. You will work independently and alongside apprentices, ensuring all work is completed in compliance with local codes and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment.
  2. Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine layout and installation procedures.
  3. Diagnose electrical issues and determine appropriate solutions.
  4. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems.
  5. Ensure all work adheres to local electrical codes and safety standards.
  6. Collaborate with other tradespeople and contractors on job sites.
  7. Train and mentor apprentices in electrical practices and safety protocols.
  8. Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  9. Respond to emergency electrical service calls as needed.
Qualifications:
  1. Valid Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification.
  2. Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program.
  3. Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in the electrical trade.
  4. Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety regulations, and best practices.
  5. Proficient in the use of electrical tools and testing equipment.
  6. Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  7. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements:
  1. Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment (up to 50 lbs).
  2. Stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
  3. Work in varying weather conditions and environments.
