Job summary

AISD seeks a skilled electrician to maintain and repair district electrical systems across its facilities. You will install, troubleshoot, and repair wiring, panels, and safety devices while adhering to Texas codes and district standards.

Requires a valid Texas Journeyman Electrician license, a high school diploma or GED, and at least five years of commercial electrical and maintenance experience. Strong reading of plans and good communication are essential; driver’s license required.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, specifications and technical documents.
• Five years' commercial electrical experience.
• Five years' electrical maintenance experience.

• Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain electrical systems for AISD facilities.
• Maintain assigned vehicle, equipment, and tools to ensure safe operating condition.
• Coordinate with Electrical Foremen and other trades to complete projects and work orders.
• Inspect electrical systems and components for condition.
• Identify necessary repairs and recommend preventive maintenance.
• Inform personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited
• Must have valid State of Texas Journeyman Electrician License
• Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, specifications and technical Five years' commercial experience required.
• Five years' electrical maintenance experience
• Must have valid Texas Driver's License and have a satisfactory driving record
• Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle with or without reasonable accommodation
• Must be able to work at heights up to 50 feet with or without reasonable accommodation
• Must be able to work under limited supervision
• Responsible for installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems for AISD facilities
• Maintains assigned vehicle, equipment, and tools to ensure safe operating condition
• Coordinates with Electrical Foremenandothertradesforthepurposeofcompletingprojectsandworkorders
• Inspects electrical systems and their components for the purpose of evaluating condition
• Identify necessary repairs and recommend preventive maintenance
• Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions
• Other duties as assigned

Equipment Used:

• All of the following associated with the electrical trade, but not limited to: power tools e.; drill saws, hammer drills, pneumatic and electric man lifts, scaffold ladders, basic hand tools, electronic test equipment, trenchers.
• Will work in, under, around, outside of all AISD
• Work will be done within AISD zone concepts.
• Employee will be exposed to all atmosphere found in this region of Texas.
