Job summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking a Journeyman Electrician to support a utility-scale solar project in Talco, TX. You will perform code-compliant electrical work, install and terminate equipment, and ensure safety and quality standards on site.

Candidates should be safety-focused, able to work outdoors, and capable of maintaining a reliable full-time schedule. Electrical Journeyman License and 4+ years of experience are required; solar experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have Electrical Journeyman License and 4+ years of experience in electrical work.
• Solar experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical code, safety practices, and materials used on construction sites.
• Must have a tape measure, level, and side cutting pliers (Lineman’s).
• Ability to work outdoors and meet attendance schedules.

Responsibilities

• Terminate combiner boxes
• Panel/LV work
• Install metering equipment
• Layout, bend, thread and install conduit
• Layout and install switchgear, switchboards and electrical devices
• Trench with shovel and install PVC raceway
• Pull and terminate aluminum direct bury wire
• Connect and support DC wire
• Install electrical enclosures
• Supervise the work of apprentices
• Unload and stage material
• Perform electrical testing and commissioning

• General knowledge of construction principles/processes required
• Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used on construction projects
• Must have a tape measure, level, and side cutting pliers (Lineman’s)
• Proven commitment to safety and teamwork
• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
