Job description

Talascend is currently seeking an Electrician for a contract opportunity in Princeton, NJ.

The Maintenance Electrician will provide maintenance, repair, and/or installation of electrical equipment, wiring, and lighting systems.

Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities

1. Test, troubleshoot, and repair control panels, electric motors, and electrical equipment.
2. Isolate and repair issues in wiring, motors, and other electrical components.
3. Troubleshoot and repair electrical controls and motor control centers.
4. Bend and install rigid or PVC conduit.
5. Pull electrical cables and wires in conduit.
6. Use voltage and amperage measuring devices.
7. Travel between facilities to support daily operations.
8. Complete work orders for repairs, maintenance, and lighting/power circuit installations.
9. Maintain equipment such as switchgear, generators, and lighting systems.
10. Assist in maintenance and preventive repairs of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
12. Respond to after-hours emergencies.
13. Collaborate with outside contractors/vendors performing repairs or servicing equipment.
14. Work with onsite personnel such as security, cleaning, and cafeteria staff.

Skills and Competencies

1. Prioritize and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
2. Computer skills for interfacing with machinery programs.
3. Strong communication, cooperation, and teamwork skills.
4. Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
5. Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
6. Experience repairing and maintaining high voltage equipment up to 600 volts.
7. Knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures and NEC regulations.

Education and Experience

1. 10+ years of practical commercial/industrial electrical experience preferred.
2. High school diploma or equivalent.
3. Active Journeyman’s electrical license.
4. Valid driver’s license.
