Description

Job Summary:

Responsible for the operations of the entire facility's electrical systems.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Will work in conjunction with the Facilities Supervisors for the training and development of Facilities Team Members.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Identify and execute electrical and mechanical system preventative maintenance (PM) procedures to prevent breakdowns, prolong equipment life and minimize interruptions impacting the customer.
  2. Troubleshoot total building electrical systems to identify and correct system or equipment problems.
  3. Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
  4. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
  5. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
  6. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, oscilloscopes and data loggers to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  7. Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
  8. Inspect, test, maintain logs and post required permits for building electrical systems according to code and industry standards.
  9. If assigned, direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  10. Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
  11. Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps.
  12. Operate, maintain and repair electrical systems.
  13. Adjust electrical system performance as necessary.
  14. Manipulate, repair and troubleshoot environmental controls via direct digital control (DDC) systems.
  15. Perform a variety of building electrical maintenance tasks assigned to those of the electrical trade.
  16. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Must be 21 years of age or older.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Two (2) to three (3) years’ experience preferably as a manager or supervisor.

  1. Five (5) years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and related controls and equipment; OR A combination of related training and experience which equals five (5) years.

Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registrations:

  1. Gaming license/registration as required by the Virginia Lottery Board.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Ability to clearly communicate with Team members and guests in English.
  2. Ability to be a TEAM player.
  3. Ability to successfully fulfill the pre-employment process.
  4. Available to work flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  5. Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, climbing, reaching, lifting moderate to heavy weights, and using hand tools with dexterity, requiring good hand-eye coordination, and the ability to perform tasks in tight spaces while sometimes working in awkward positions; they may also be exposed to noise, grease, and other industrial elements depending on the work environment.
  2. Lifting and carrying: Regularly lifting and moving objects ranging from light tools to heavy machine parts, with occasional need to lift heavier items with assistance.
  3. Mobility: Frequent standing, walking, climbing ladders, crawling, and maneuvering in tight spaces.
  4. Manual dexterity: Precise hand movements to operate tools, tighten bolts, and manipulate small parts.
  5. Reaching and bending: Reaching into tight areas and bending to access components of machinery.
  6. Visual acuity: Clear near and far vision to read gauges, inspect parts, and identify potential issues.
  7. Hearing acuity: Ability to hear machinery sounds to detect malfunctions.
  8. Ability to work in an environment with moderate to loud noise, bright lights, smoke, and dust.
