ICMS is seeking a Full-Time Journeyman Electrician responsible for operating and maintaining building equipment and systems. The role involves working with the Chief Engineer to assign work and schedule staff, with in-depth knowledge of emergency power systems and data center layouts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Coordinate and oversee the integration and completion of building systems
- Supervise work by contractors and in-house staff for optimal performance
- Assist in overseeing building operations with the Chief Engineer or Project Manager
- Operate and maintain the central plant and energy management systems
- Ensure safety and security of equipment through regular meetings
- Respond to customer requests professionally
- Maintain inventories of tools, supplies, and equipment
- Resolve tenant and customer challenges collaboratively
- Assist operators with daily central plant operations and maintenance
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs
- Assist with safety equipment maintenance
- Conduct after-hours rounds and assess equipment functionality
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the central plant
- Handle after-hours emergencies related to HVAC, fire alarms, electrical, and plumbing
- Participate in minor construction projects
- Prepare incident reports for emergencies
- Follow all safety, health, and environmental policies
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience with a Journeyman’s License in maintenance and operations for a 300,000 sq ft building
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance as per guidelines
- Understanding of safety procedures and ability to enforce them
- Experience with computer-based monitoring and control of HVAC systems
- Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and utility systems knowledge
- Ability to repair systems controlled by Energy Management Control Systems (EMCS)
- Proficiency with hand and power tools
- Ability to work independently when needed
Recommended Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Ability to pass background checks
- Experience in government facilities
- Ability to read blueprints
- Experience in budget management
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, email)
Physical Demands:
- Frequent stooping, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, pulling, pushing, grasping, communicating, and repetitive motions
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
- Interact with multiple people and handle multiple demands
Work Environment:
- Possible overtime, shift work, on-call, including weekends and holidays
- Support may be required 24/7
- Indoor and outdoor work, including elevated and confined spaces
