Journeyman Electrician - 2 openings - Monroe, WI

We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate is a licensed professional with extensive knowledge of electrical systems, safety standards, and hands-on experience in commercial and industrial settings. This role requires excellent technical skills, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work independently or as part of a crew across varied environments.

Job Summary

The Journeyman Electrician will be responsible for the installation, connection, testing, and maintenance of diverse electrical systems for various applications, including climate control, lighting, security, and communications. This role also involves the maintenance of electronic controls for machinery in business and industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation & Repair: Plan, diagram, install, and repair electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels.

  • Conduit & Wiring: Accurately measure, cut, bend, assemble, and install electrical conduit (piping or tubing), and pull wire through conduit; connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, outlets, or other essential components.

  • Testing & Safety: Test continuity of circuits to ensure compatibility and safety components, using standard instruments such as the ohmmeter, ammeter, voltmeter, oscilloscope, megger, and other relevant testing equipment.

  • System Assembly: Assemble, install, and wire electrical systems that operate heating, lighting, power, air conditioning, and refrigeration components; electrical equipment and controls; and signal and communication systems.

  • Tool Operation: Proficiently use hand tools (e.g., conduit benders, screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, hacksaws, pipe threaders) and power tools (e.g., drills and saws).

  • Code Compliance: Maintain strict familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) to ensure all work protects people and property from electrical hazards.

  • Other Duties: Perform other related electrical duties as required.

Requirements
  • Licensure: Valid State Electrician License is mandatory.

  • Technical Knowledge:

    • Proven knowledge of Safety, Lock-out/Tag-out, HAZMAT, Forklift, Electrostatic Discharge, and ARC Flash.

    • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC), Comm 16, and NECA Standards.

    • Experience: Five (5) years of electrical related experience or demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the listed tasks.

  • Technical Acumen: Ability to read and/or understand electrical diagrams and blueprints.

  • Availability: Ability to work in an on-call rotation.

  • Work Ethic: Possesses strong independence skills; a self-starter with the ability to work efficiently on their own.

  • Reliability: Good attendance history.
